Retail Sector categories for 2012 have been revised in response to requests from retailers. A new Leisure category, which has absorbed Cooking & Cookery, includes Craft retailing and all other types of pastime, hobby or leisure retailing online. This means that the Travel category is dedicated just to retail travel services and all associated products and services. The separate Green products category has been deleted, as has the Utilities & Public Sector category. Both received too few entries when compared with other categories. Online retail activities by restaurants are now included under the renamed Food & Drink category. Though requested by retailers in 2011, the Education category received no entries. It has been retained for one more year, however, as the orgainzers believe it should receive entries in 2012. Finally, the Cars category has been renamed Vehicles, Accessories & Services.
In the Overall Achievement categories, there has been some renaming to avoid repetition, and the Specialist Retailer Site of the Year has been brought back after a year's absence, in response to requests by potential entrants.
